Happy Moments are members of the Rabbitfish family. There are two sperate populations of Happy Moments in Australia on the eastern and western seaboards from sub-tropical to temperate waters. They form schools in coastal waters and inlets and are capable of inflicting a painful injury from venomous tips to some of their fin spines.

Happy Moments are a greenish to grey colour. They have numerous pale blue spots over their bodies. Juveniles have a small dark spot at the rear of the gill opening that is sometimes retained by adults.

Confusing Species: Pearly Spotted Rabbitfish

Pearly Spotted Rabbitfish are found in northern NSW. They are slightly more elongated than Happy Moments and are have far fewer spots. The spots that they do have are a pale white and are concentrated across the back and belly.
