Caulerpa taxifolia

Dive, as group of passionate divers clean up
the invasive Caulerpa taxifolia weed in the Quarantine Bay area in the
afternoon on Thursday the 6th of April.
On
board there will be a NSW Fisheries AquaticPests officer who will be on
hand to provide training. Divers will be taught how to recognise Caulerpa
taxifolia as well as the native seagrasses this work is designed to protect.
The officer will describe the preferred method of removing and bagging
the weed in order to minimise any fragmentation and further distribution
of Caulerpa taxifolia.
If you are interested in joining this dive please contact
us as soon as possible because spaces filling up fast!
Previous dives have shown that the weed is fairly abundant in the North
Harbour Aquatic Reserve.
Bush Regeneration - Reef Beach,
Balgowlah Heights

These
monthly bush regeneration activities are a great chance to socialise with
your fellow HarbourKeepers, help look after Sydney Harbour and take in
the scenic views! Newcomers will learn new skills while regenerating the
natural bushland around Reef Beach.
Bush regeneration at this site is conducted in conjunction with the National
Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). NPWS provide training for beginners
so that everyone could get involved no matter what their level of experience.
