Clean Up Australia Day Dives

Come get involved in a nation wide event unlike anything you have
ever experienced! Explore and discover the beauties of Sydney Harbour
and its wonders deep below the surface. Join HarbourKeepers and our many
friends while we take part in helping clean up Australia!!
There
are many things you can get involved in that day, from dives to bush regeneration.
Bring your friends and lets get down and dirty to help bring back Sydney
Harbour and its surrounds to it original natural beauty.
For those of you interested in seeing what the depths below
hold, you may be interested in joining up with one of the many dives groups
partaking in Clean Up Australia Day.
Below are dive operators that have confirmed they will be going out to
do HarbourKeepers dives as part of Clean Up Australia Day. If you are
keen to get involved register as a HarbourKeeper
to receive monthly event updates and activity registration details.
Balmoral Pool, Balmoral - Underwater and land-based clean ups
are happening at Balmoral Pool so you needn't get wet to get involved!
A good chance for divers to bring along their non-diving partners and
achieve a positive environmental outcome. Dive services are arranged through

More information on the dive groups that will be participating
will be available shortly, so make sure you check back regularly to find
one near you!
URG HarbourKeepers Fish Survey - Sun
4th
UnderWater Research Group (URG) will be conducting a survey dive on
Sunday March 4th, diving to 18M or less. Dive with some of Sydney's most
knowledgable, experienced and friendly divers and be amazed!
URG
dives are some of the most popular HarbourKeepers activities, so if you
are intersted try to get on board quickly!
Marine Environment Expo: Secrets of Seahorses - Manly
Cove Beach - Manly - Sat 10th
Manly Council are holding a Marine Environment Expo with the theme
of Secrets of Seahorses on the beach at Manly Cove (between Manly Wharf
and Ocean World). Come and learn about the beautiful but vulnerable seahorse
from a range of exhibitors including environmental agencies and local
photographers. The event is from 9am to 1pm with a presentation by NSW
Fisheries experts at 11.00am inside Ocean World.
Bush Regeneration - Reef Beach, Balgowlah
Heights
Sun 18th
These
monthly bush regeneration activities are a great chance to socialise with
your fellow HarbourKeepers, help look after Sydney Harbour and take in
the scenic views! Newcomers will learn new skills while regenerating the
natural bushland around Reef Beach.
Bush regeneration at this site is conducted in conjunction with the National
Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). NPWS provide training for beginners
so that everyone could get involved no matter what their level of experience.
To get involved in Reef Beach bush regeneration register
as a HarbourKeeper. Once registered you will receive regular email
newsletters about upcoming events, however if there is an event you are

Study marine conservation at Tafe - Brookvale Campus
Sat 24th
NPA~Marine has worked with TAFE to create a Statement of Attainment
in Marine and Coastal Conservation for HarbourKeepers and CoastKeepers
volunteers. Through a combination of classroom theory and outdoor practical
work students will learn about marine conservation issues and practical
bush regeneration skills. Coastal and marine streams allow non-divers
and divers to complete this course. Click here
