Fish Survey training and dives - Workshop Thurs
27th Sept Dives Sun 7th Oct
Volunteer divers will be trained to participate in HarbourKeepers &
CoastKeepers survey of marine fish in NSW. The Fish Survey project provides
a means for the dive community to contribute to marine conservation by
gathering data on the population and distribution of 50 NSW marine fish.
HarbourKeepers forwards this data to BioNet, Project AWARE and other agencies.
Training consists of a 3 hour fish identification workshop and two training
dives. Divers who successfully complete training are able to incorporate
Fish Surveys into their normal dive activities and join organised Fish
Survey events. Successful completion of the HarbourKeepers Fish Survey
course also results in PADI certification as a Project AWARE Fish Identification
speciality diver.
Dive equipment for HarbourKeepers Fish Survey training is generously
supplied by Plunge Diving - HarbourKeepers primary dive supporter. Click

Bush Regeneration - Hermitage Foreshore
- Vaucluse - Sun 21st
Calling
all HarbourKeepers - Sydney Harbour needs you!
The beautiful Hermitage Foreshore in the Sydney Harbour National Park
in Vaucluse is suffering from a weed invasion that is nudging out native
plant species and not providing the correct foods or habitats for native
animals.
This is a chance to be involved in a new conservation project from the
beginning. You will learn about native plants and wildlife and make a
real difference to the conservation of Sydney Harbour. No experience is
required as you will work under the guidance of skilled natural area managers
from the National Parks and Wildlife Service. Read more about HarbourKeepers
work along the Hermitage Foreshore here.
